With the invention of car wraps, car enthusiasts can look beyond unusual paint colors and car designs. There is a wide variety of car wrap colors and designs to choose from. Car paint protection films are designed to adhere to factory paint.

Car paint protection film overlay with vinyl film

Adding a paint protection film overlay to your vinyl wrapped car will not only protect the paint job underneath, but also give the car an extra layer of protection from the elements. The process is simple and can be done in a few hours.

First, you will need to clean the surface of the car to remove any dirt or debris. Next, measure and cut the film to size. Be sure to leave enough film to wrap around the edges of the car. Apply the film to the car, starting at the top and working your way down. Once the film is in place, use a squeegee to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.

If you are using a clear film, you may want to apply a top coat of wax or sealant for extra protection. Allow the wax or sealant to dry completely before driving the car.

Car paint protection film VS vinyl film

There are two types of film that can be used to protect your car's paint: paint protection film (PPF) and vinyl film. Both have their pros and cons, so it's important to choose the right one for your needs.

Paint protection film is a clear, adhesive-backed film that is applied to the painted surfaces of a car. It protects against scratches, chips, and stains. PPF is available in different thicknesses, so you can choose the level of protection you need. However, thicker films are more difficult to apply and can be more expensive.

Vinyl film is a colored, adhesive-backed film that is applied to the exterior of a car. It can change the color of your car or add a design element. Vinyl films are also available in different thicknesses, but they are generally thinner than PPF films. Vinyl films are less expensive than PPF films and easier to apply, but they don't offer as much protection against scratches and chips.
